About Us 2nd Chance PC is a recycling and repair business for old and outdated computers, or PCs that have been replaced by newer versions.
Your PC may not be exactly old but, it's not new either. No matter. We will recycle or repair it and then reintroduce it to the children at a school in need of a good quality used PC. Or maybe someone who is buying there first PC and is on a budget with a family. We tend to cater to those who are in need of a good quality computer but need a little help. We know how steep the prices can get on a new computer, that's why we want to help.
Company history I have been repairing and rebuilding computers for as long as I can remember. I have also had a passion for helping others who need help as well. That is how this business came about. I had a desire to do business the proper and honest way. Too many repair services are sneaky and lie, or just plain sell unneeded parts to individuals and business alike. I will always give an honest answer and all ways perform honest, dependable work at a very competitive rate. I want to bring back faith and trust in our fellow man and business. This is something that I will guarantee always. | We here at 2nd Chance PC guarantee that your PC and any other PCs we encounter that are to be recycled will be done so using only the utmost standards &das ways possible. Our goal is to effectively help the environment while supporting the technological movement. We believe that we can have a clean and healthy planet while improving the quality of life at the same time. All we need is your help. | Understanding Impact
A better way of advancing towards the future and protecting our planet at the same time. That's 2nd Chance PC Consider what happens to all of these computers and their internal parts after they have fulfilled their duty. They usually get put out with the trash--but wait, the landfill and the dump will not except these parts. So what happens to them? I will tell you. The parts are sent out to usually foreign countries like China. Here they are to be recycled, but not the way you and I would think. They are melted and smelted, and people even sluice open basins of acid over semiconductors to remove their gold. All the while the left overs are thrown into streams and other populated places where they cause numerous cases of birth defects, cancer, hormonal imbalances, and other health related problems. Watch dog groups like Basil Action Network estimate that 50 percent or more of the United States' used computers, cellphones and TVs sent to recyclers are shipped overseas for recycling. Once overseas they go to places like, Taizhou or Lagos, Nigeria, as permitted by federal law. However most of this "recycled" material ends up as toxic waste that is allowed to be burned or just degrade in landfills. This is just a small portion of what really happens to all of our once precious electronic valuables. |
